Rebated Door Frames Hinges Jig. Jig designed for rebated door frames, or frames with door stop on. Jig cuts 100x30mm and 75×20mm hinges, jig can be clamped or screwed on the door or frame. 2 1900mm metal tube. 3 router bit with bearing. Bearing is a bit larger than router bit, to keep router bit away from templates, and prevent the damaging it. 4 140mm size clear plastic base, to give trimmer stability, and prevent from tilting. When cutting 100x30mm hinges, minimum door thickness must be 45mm, if hinges 75mm20mm, door thickness must be minimum 35mm. How to use hinges jig. Draw the hinges on the door or frame. For example if hinges 100x30mm, draw 33mm vertical line on the door or frame, and adjust templates to 106mm, always add 3mm on the each side. 1 Draw the hinges on the door or frame. 2 clamp or screw template on the top hinge of your drawing. 3 insert the tube in to template and tie up grub screws, and do the same way with other two templates. 4 Lean wood button to the top to the top of the template and cut it flush with the top of the door. This wood button against works as gide for your next door routering. 5 For door frame routering, add 3mm spacer to the wood button, it will give you gap between frame and top of the door.
